Herbalife Instant Herbal Tea: Flavours, Caffeine and How to Make It

Herbalife Instant Herbal Tea is a powdered drink made with green and black tea extracts plus herbal ingredients such as hibiscus, malva flower and cardamom. You make it by mixing ½ teaspoon (about 1.7g) with 250ml of hot or cold water, and each cup has about 6 calories. It contains caffeine from the tea extracts, so most people drink it in the morning or early afternoon. In the UK it comes in Original, Lemon, Raspberry and Peach (50g) and Original and Mango Dragon Fruit (102g).

If you drink it every day, the 102g tub works out cheaper per cup.

How do you make Herbalife tea?

  1. Put ½ teaspoon of powder in a cup or bottle.
  2. Add 250ml of hot water for a warm tea, or cold water and ice for an iced tea.
  3. Stir or shake until dissolved.

Many people make a large bottle in the morning (for example 1 teaspoon in 500ml of cold water) and sip it through the day. Start with a small amount and increase to taste: the powder is concentrated.

How much caffeine is in Herbalife tea?

The caffeine comes from the green and black tea extracts. The exact amount per serving is printed on the label; as a rule of thumb, treat one serving like a cup of tea and avoid it late in the day if caffeine affects your sleep. It is not recommended for children or pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Frequently asked questions

Is Herbalife tea good for weight loss?

It is a very low-calorie drink (about 6 kcal a cup), so it is an easy swap for sugary drinks and helps you reach your daily fluid intake. It is not a weight loss product on its own; it is usually used alongside a Formula 1 plan.

How many cups a day can I drink?

Follow the label and keep total caffeine from all sources (coffee, tea, energy drinks) in mind.

Does it contain sugar?

The quantity per serving is very small; check the label of your flavour for exact figures.
