Herbalife Shake Recipes: 10 Easy Formula 1 Ideas

Herbalife Shake Recipes: 10 Easy Formula 1 Ideas

The easiest way to vary your Herbalife shake is to start from 2 scoops of Formula 1 and 250ml of milk, then add one extra ingredient: frozen fruit, a teaspoon of cocoa or instant coffee, a pinch of spice or a tablespoon of oats. Blend with ice for 20–30 seconds for a thick, milkshake-style texture. Here are ten recipes we come back to, grouped by the Formula 1 flavour they start from.

What do you need for these recipes?

  • A tub of Formula 1 (Vanilla Cream is the most versatile base)
  • 250ml of semi-skimmed milk or a plant-based drink per shake
  • A blender, or a Super Shaker for the simpler recipes
  • Ice cubes

Every recipe below is one serving. Extras such as fruit or nut butter add calories, so keep them to the amounts shown if you use your shake as a meal replacement for weight management.

Vanilla Cream recipes

1. Berry smoothie

2 scoops Vanilla Cream, 250ml milk, 80g frozen mixed berries, 3 ice cubes. Blend until smooth.

2. Apple pie

2 scoops Vanilla Cream, 250ml milk, ½ small apple (cored), a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg, 1 tablespoon oats.

3. Tropical

2 scoops Vanilla Cream, 250ml coconut drink, 60g frozen mango or pineapple, ice.

4. Carrot cake

2 scoops Vanilla Cream, 250ml milk, 1 small grated carrot, a pinch of cinnamon and ginger, 3 walnut halves.

Chocolate and coffee recipes

5. Mocha

2 scoops Smooth Chocolate, 250ml milk, 1 teaspoon instant coffee, ice.

6. Peanut butter cup

2 scoops Smooth Chocolate, 250ml milk, 1 teaspoon peanut butter, ice.

7. Iced latte

2 scoops Café Latte, 250ml cold milk, lots of ice. Blend briefly so it stays light.

Fruity recipes

8. Strawberries and cream

2 scoops Strawberry Delight, 250ml milk, 4 fresh or frozen strawberries.

9. Banana bread

2 scoops Banana Cream, 250ml oat drink, 1 tablespoon oats, a pinch of cinnamon.

10. Mint choc chip freeze

2 scoops Mint & Chocolate, 200ml milk, a large handful of ice. Blend until thick and eat with a spoon.

How do I make my shake thicker?

  • Use frozen fruit instead of fresh.
  • Reduce the milk to 200ml and add more ice.
  • Add a tablespoon of oats or a teaspoon of chia seeds and let it rest for two minutes.
  • Add a scoop of Protein Drink Mix, which also adds 15g of protein.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make Herbalife shakes the night before?

Yes. Keep the shake covered in the fridge and shake or blend again before drinking. Recipes with banana are best made fresh.

Can I use water instead of milk?

For a meal replacement, use milk or a fortified plant drink so the shake has enough protein. Water-based shakes are fine as a light snack.
